На первых четырех дисках находятся бинарники. Туда входят компиляторы,
утилиты для разработки и пакеты с заголовочными файлами.
На диске с пятого по восьмой находятся исходные тексты всех бинарников,
на случай если вы захотите пересобрать их. Их можно утановить после
инсталляции.
После установки я добавляю установочные диски в репозиторий apt с
помощью apt-cdrom add
Я никогда не работал с дисками 5-8, но возможно их также можно добавить
в репозиторий и устанавливать исходники с помощью комманд apt-get source
либо apt-get install
