Да, совсем забыл,
apt-get install NVIDIA_GLX
и как тут напомнил Grigory Milev
"в конфиге /etc/X11/XF86Config надо поменять nv на nvidia".
Если все равно остануться проблемы, тогда они скорее всего
связаны с AGP. Советую все-таки почитать NVidia'вскую доку
иногда помогает. А по поводу биоса, так у меня на Soltek
под офтопиком тоже работало, а при заходе в XFree получал
заставку NVidia висящую около минуты.:)
