Настроить -- keyboardrake (например, win ctrl+shift - раскладка win,
переключатель ctrl+shift)
Индикация -- xxkb (один флажок на всех или у каждого окна свой).
И то и другое должно быть в J2.
Переключателями\индикаторами в KDE (не знаю, есть ли аналог в Gnome) не
пользуйтесь.
