Однажды эта проблема решилась путем удаления COM5 и COM6 (их винда
видела, но они не фунционировали), затем перегрузка и обнаружение портов
в мастере оборудования.
Но вообще логики там нет, надо тыкать во все места, тогда получится,
поищите в рассылке про vmware и COM - я имел те же проблемы, а
советовали мне разное.
К Вам встречный вопрос: что у Вас в меню загрузки vmware?
У меня при запуске винды, установленного на физический раздел, из VMware
появляется сначала меню GRUB, а в нем уже приходится выбирать Win. Эта
проблема решаема, если винта 2 и на одном линукс, а на другом винда, а
как быть если винт один?
И нет ли способа грузить винду без запроса о профиле: из VMware - один
профиль, самостоятельно другой?
Нет ли в boot.ini ключа для закрузки конкретного профиля?
