smb4k хранит пароли к ресурсам в KWallet. Смотрите, где и почему не
проходит авторизация, соответственно и не происходит монтирования ресурса.

В отличие от smb4k в konqueror не происходит монтирования ресурса, и
работа идет непосредственно по протоколу smb. Соответственно и
проигрыватели должны уметь работать через smb, иначе то и происходит -
копирование во вроменный каталог, а потом воспроизведение.

xine и xine-plugin-samba
может, ещё кто умеет...
Аналогично и для других программ относительно умения работать через smb
