Там есть нюансы в команде инициализации. Так как у меня ModemManager в компании
с NetworkManager монополизируют порты модема, то, чтобы следить за счетом,
получать звонки и прочее, приходится соединяться по старинке, через pppd.
Соответственно, есть скрипты на все случаи жизни (2G, 3G -> 2G, 3G, роуминг,
домашняя сеть, сбрасывать звонки, читать/писать СМС и т.д.).
А по теме -- мегафон E173, мегафоновское ПО (в комплекте с модемом) в Альте
работает (для интереса ставил). Нет лишних телодвижений, как с билайновским ZTE
(на вики). Только любит перегреваться и терять соединение, особенно в жарком
помещении.
