Subject: [Comm] skype и вебкамера

Имеется вебкамера, встроенная в ноутбук.
Опознается в lsusb следующим образом:
Bus 006 Device 002 ID 0ac8:c302 Z-Star Microelectronics Corp. Vega USB 2.0
Camera.
Skype с ним работать отказывается. При попытке проверки в диалоге настройки
проверка просто вырубается и становится недоступной. Попытки решить проблему
так же, как оно успешно делалось для USB камеры Ligitech QuickCam E 1000

http://www.altlinux.org/%D0%92%D0%B5%D0%B1%D0%BA%D0%B0%D0%BC%D0%B5%D1%80%D0%B0_%D0%B2_Skype)
на ноутбуке ни к чему не привели (что, в принципе, было ожидаемо, ибо симптомы
проблемы отличались с самого начала).
Спрашивается, что можно еще сделать?
И есть ли утки, в смысле альтернатива, скайпу в плане видеообщения через
интернет под линуксом (прежде всего интересует возможность использовать
видеосервис ICQ).
