Попробуйте вот такое:
http://wiki.winehq.org/winetricks
Т.е. скачиваем данный скрипт и запускаем от пользователя:
./winetricks gecko
Я его не много изменил под альтовскую специфику, всего лишь поправил пути в
соответствии с нашим wine@etersoft. См. вложение.
Вполне возможно я не прав в предложенном решении.
