Как обычно -- корни раздельные, /home можно и общий, хотя сильно
зависит от того, насколько интенсивно чем пользуетесь и что между
ними разъехалось по всяким ~/.kde.
Загрузчик обновляется из одной инсталяции -- что-то вроде
http://homepage.eircom.net/~dangold/howto.html
(LILO Multi Distro mini-HOWTO, кроме п.6.1).
