Давным-давно когда-то модулей было много, ядер два - up и smp,
а процесс был один: upgrade.
Сегодня, вероятно ввиду долгого воздержания прорвало: 2.6.18,
2.6.22, 2.6.24 (которое куда тормознее, чем 18), 2.6.25...
и только тестированием можно понять, что лучше: ll, wks, std и т.д.
К процессам добавились "откат" и remove.
Штатный update-kernel в моих руках чего-то не сумел вообще.
(Кстати, он действительно "для безопасного обновления ядра"?)
Более старый update_kernel.sh с моим участием тоже уже надоел.
Вот я и сляпал, как умею то, что хотелось, а именно: выбрать
в длинном списке ядер нужное и сделать с ним всё, что хочу.
Для полноценного GUI там очень многого недостает, видимо
и не будет. С обновлением модулей куча всё тех нерешенных
проблем. Но главное - уже работает. Исправления первоначальной
версии опубликованы там же на fsi.
Модуль для альтератора - это хорошо бы...
