Там же (помойму вторым каментом) есть кусочек скрипта.

Положить его в какой /usr/local/sbin/ppp0-watch и в /etc/crontab
прописать:
* * * * * root /usr/local/sbin/ppp0-watch
чтоб запускался раз в минуту.
