Посмотрите вывод ip link ls - возможно, эта карта сейчас имеет
какое-то другое имя.

Без iftab имена интерфейсов могут меняться при перезагрузке, поскольку
порядок загрузки драйверов сейчас не фиксирован (хотя в частном
случае, когда все имеющиеся адаптеры обслуживаются одним модулем,
имена будут определяться порядком сканирования PCI). Поэтому лучше не
выбрасывать iftab, а заполнить его правильно.
Кроме того, текущая реализация переименования интерфейсов может
работать неправильно, если в iftab назначены имена вида ethN
(перекрывающиеся с назначаемыми автоматически) - лучше использовать
нестандартные имена (либо по функциям, либо, например, lan1/lan2 по
маркировке на корпусе).
