Вот мои настройки для карты Planet WL-8310 (тот же Atheros):
/etc/net/ifaces/ath0
ipv4address:
10.4.2.241/24
iwconfig:
mode managed
rate auto
essid MyNet
key XXXXXXXXXX
options:
TYPE=eth
MODULE=ath_pci
WPA_DRIVER=madwifi
Правда у меня Сизиф, но, насколько помню, там разницы с Компактом быть
не должно.
