Так все работает, кажется. А эти две строчки - после установки соединения запускаеся
скрипт /etc/ppp/ip-up и про это эти две строчки. При разрыве связи - скрипт /etc/ppp/ip-down.
Эти скрипты запускают то, что лежит в /etc/ppp/ip-up.d/ и /etc/ppp/ip-down.d/. Т.е.
если исполняемый файл положить в эти каталоги - то он выполниться при подключении или
отключении. Если ничего не меняли, то в ip-up.d должен быть sendmail, который отправляет
почту, которая была написана offline.
