Это сомнительно. Если я правильно понимаю, это противоположность "modem". В
моем рабочем скрипте стоит именно "modem" (Телефон M65, любой оператор из
главной тройки МТС, Билайн, Мегафон)

При этой опции вроде должен где-то указываться IP адрес, возможно все тот же
10.10.20.2. Если адрес не указывается, то вроде надо noipdefault

Еще неплохо на всякий случай "mtu 576". Это в большинстве случаев не нужно, но
иногда без него нет ответа на запросы после того, как коннекто все-таки
состоялся.
Еще "usepeerdns"
Это для того, чтобы DNS себе получить. В противном случае в /etc/resolv.conf
и, возможно, в /etc/ppp/resolv.conf следует прописать DNS, которые
рекомендует оператор сотовой связи.

При любых условиях (оператор, телефон) лучше использовать номер *99***#
Хуже не будет, а вот при сокращенном варианте могут быть проблемы.
