На мой взгляд, для workstation о двух SATA-дисках вполне подойдет RAID
средствами linux. Более того, это будет оптимальный вариант.

Мы везде (имею в виду сервера) ставим контроллеры от 3ware. Они дорогие, но
они того стоят.
