Знакомые грабли. У меня были те же проблемы при установке VMWare на Compact
3.0.
Насколько я понял, это из-за того, что во всех этих подкаталогах какая-то
фигня, в одних символьные ссылки, в других не хватает файлов.
Мне удалось это побороть так: установил kernel-source, распаковал, скопировал
недостающие файлы (те, что там отсутствовали, но были
в /lib/modules/2.6.12-std26-up-alt6/build), сделал симлинк asm на asm-i386 и
скормил конфигуратору VMWare include из него.
