Джентельмены, что у нас с поддержкой сканеров?

что-то чем дальше, тем больше я фигею по поводу компакта и его "сырости".

окей, дано:

сканеры (usb) Genius ColorPage 6X и Mustek BearPaw 2400, оба поддерживаются 
sane и прекрасно работают в Master 2.4.

Компакт (3.0.4 + все updates)

Подключаем. Окей,

про "устройство сканер" -- не сказано ни слова.
смотрим в /proc/bus/usb -- действительно,

и устройства /dev/usb/scanner -- естественно, нет (при этом, в 
списке /etc/hotplug/usb/libsane.usermap -- оба сканера есть.

Так, обнадёживает.

отлично. xsane висит примерно, пол-часа, после чего сообщает об отсутствии 
доступных устройств. Это происходит и под юзером и под рутом.

Повторюсь, под мастером (и вглубь веков, и далее -- всё прекрасно работало).

Не буду, из политкорректности, спрашивать, кто виноват -- но ЧТО ДЕЛАТЬ ?!!!!!
