NF4 - в M2.4 SATA точно не работает (разве что собирать и подсовывать
модуль при установке), да и куча всего остального тоже (как минимум
сеть и звук).
С VIA ситуация лучше - южный мост VT8237 поддерживается полностью даже
в M2.4 (в том числе и SATA); хотя с новейшим VT8251 лучше пока вообще
не связываться - первая версия патча для поддержки SATA появилась
буквально в этом месяце.

Если попадётся ICH6-R (с поддержкой AHCI) - может и не заработать.
