Для чего используется? Вам нравится, когда у вас есть память в системе,
которая _не используется_!? Тогда зачем она вообще нужна?!
"Излишек" памяти, как правило, используется для кэширования операций
ввода/вывода, при потребности в памяти для приложений эта память будет
безболезненно освобождаться.
А неиспользуемая память - нонсенс.
