очень просто - запускаете mkinitrd с ключом --pause, он просто создаст
каталог загрузки с модулями и будет ждать нажатия кнопки. В это время вы
на соседней консоли открываете этот каталог (он где-то в /root/tmp/ будет
находится), засовываете/удаляете туда нужные модули, правите linuxrc на
соответствие, и потом продолжаете mkinitrd. Он свернет initrd и все.
