Кабель не распознался наверное.

А при втыкании кабеля в USB, в /var/log/messages что-нибудь про
ttyUSB? появляется?
P.S. Какое пиво пили сименсовцы накануне проектирования кабеля
DCA-540 мне неизвестно.
