Subject: [Comm] emacs и русские буквы...

приветствую!
Решил начать новую жизнь и освоить Emacs. Поставил его (GNU) и ничего, кроме
квадратиков (разноцветных) не увидел. Это, как я понимаю, русские буковки.
Версия для X. Я немного полазал по хавтушкам и прописал в .emacs загрузку
шрифта с русскими буковками (точнее речь шла о fontset вроде бы). Теперь при
загрузке всё в квадратиках, но в самом конце квадратики чудесным образом
превращаются в русские буковки. Везде, он не в всплывающих
подсказках. :-( Как это починить более правильным путём?
И ещё, куда смотреть, чтобы шрифт, используемый в меню (собственно графическая
часть) стал "более благородным"? (Я, к примеру, использую Тахому и этого же
хотел пожелать своему Емаксу)
