Думать иногда полезно :) На самом деле эта функция в Ворде есть
рудимент досовской версии, и от нее один только вред, т. к. она
формирует ма-аленькие боксики с номером страницы, которые потом
ведут себя совершенно непредсказуемо.

Колонтитул надо включать, а в него уже вставлять поле номера. В Ворде
это тоже единственно правильный метод.
