Не нужен - поддержка сенсоров в 2.6.x вошла в основное дерево, причём
в сильно переписанном виде по сравнению с 2.4.x. Правда, не все
модули были перенесены в 2.6 - чего-то может не хватать; недостающие
модули дописываются по мере наличия времени и желания у разработчиков.
Что касается gkrellm - проверьте, что выводит sensors; если там
температура есть - смело вешайте баг на gkrellm. В 2.6.x несколько
раз менялся интерфейс для доступа к сенсорам (поэтому, кстати, новые
версии lm_sensors могут быть несовместимы со старыми ядрам 2.6.x, и
наоборот).
