На сайте linuxbegin.ru есть неплохой цикл статей "Линукс для начинающих". Хотя в них акцент делается на Red Hat Linux, но приводимая информация будет полезна и для пользователей других дистрибутивов (тем более, доступен архив статей по Линуксу с 2002 года). Дальше уже надо исходить из специфики конкретного дистрибутива и смотреть по нему информацию в инете.
Если хочется чего-то побольше документированного-нужно читать книги. На любом книжном рынке (или книжном магазине) можно найти нормальную книгу по Линуксу. В Украине такая стоит гривен 20 из серии "для начинающих" и 80-100 гривен - более серьезного уровня. Если влом тратить такие деньги-за пиво всегда можно сконтактировать с местным гуру Unix и спросить у него консультацию для начинающих :-)
