Какой командой засыпаете? Не реагирует на какую кнопку включения и как потом включаете?
В 2.6 swsusp еще не работает. Про acpi не знаю.
Попробуйте собрать из сизифа ядро 2.4.25, добавив патч
kernel-feat-swsusp24 из даедалуса.

В спеке ядра kernel-std-[up|smp].spec добавить строчку
%add_patch_list kernel-feat-swsusp24
в конце patch_list-ов.
user$ rpm -ba kernel-std-up.spec
Поставить пакет suspend.
Засыпать hibernate.
