Какая материнская плата?
К сожалению, в версии ядра из Junior 2.2 у модуля snd-via82xx нет
опции dxs_support, а модуль via82cxxx_audio ещё не поддерживал
8233/8235.

Попробуйте добавить в /etc/modules.conf строку:
options snd-pcm-oss dsp_map=1
Возможно, после этого вывод через эмуляцию OSS будет работать лучше.
