хехе. следад я это. оказалось дело, что необходимо грузить еще некий sd_mod
то есть
mkinitrd -v --preload=sd_mod --preload=hpt37x2 2.4.20-alt5-up
тогда грузятся последовательно:
scsi_mod
sd_mod
hpt37x2
reiserfs
без sd_mod не видятся разделы на scsi-эмулируемом винте. только я не знаю, что
это за мод ;)
кто разьяснит, почему так?

проверял по lsmod
