дело не в этом - я отобрал у 127.0.0.1 последний alias, изменилось имя хоста, икслибу снесло крышу.
Перезапуск помог, хотя я опасался сначала, что вовсе не загрузятся.
PS: а что собственно в мастере оказалось в chroot'е относящегося к иксам? ?8-)
