надо будет поэксперементировать...
ЗЫ: насчет костылей: то что они есть - прекрасно, так как
это почти единственный способ организовать совместно используемые
каталоги для пользователей под разными локалями, иначе приходится
ставить самбу или НФС. Так что жалко что систему ЕХТ2/3 незя
смонтировать с опциями об иочарсете и кодепаге...
