Спасибо огромное - с ним всё прекрасно напечаталось! Попутно
подтвердилась моя кривизна - в ~/.lpoptions была одинокая строчка
Default lp page-left=20
Кстати, с ней всё-равно хорошо печатает.

Понятно. Кстати, на linuxprinting говорят, что там postscript
level 2 "из коробки"...
