Нет, Вы неверно поняли man. Без рутовых прав Вы и visudo не запустите,
и файл /etc/sudoers ничем не откроете.
(Точнее, запустить-то visudo запустите, но покуда никаких прав на
/etc/sudoers у Вас нет, visudo лишь ругнется об этом и завершит работу.)
Запустив visudo (как root) вы будете редактировать именно /etc/sudoers.tmp
(все промежуточные сохранения редактируемого -- это сохранения sudoers.tmp).
И лишь при выходе из visudo будет записано новое содержимое в /etc/sudoers
Всё вышенаписанное верно для Мастера, хотя не думаю, что в Junior поведение
visudo могло поменяться.
(Кстати, готовые примеры /etc/sudoers в архивах рассылки должны быть)
