А если ставить отказавшись от автоопределения устройств? И на этапе установки
не включать PCMCIA? Полагаю должно поставиться. В свое время так ставил
на какой-то из ALTовских дистров на какой-то Rover (подробности уже
забылись). Тогда там была проблема судя по логу где-то в модуле yenta_socket, при
загрузке которого все намертво замерзало. Что характерно, старые версии
PCMCIA без этого модуля - под ядра 2.2 работали без проблем. Так и
пришлось потом на том ноутбуке перегружаться под разные ядра - либо сетка
без звука, либо звук и поддержка USB-флешки без сети ;\
Интересно, а на чем именно оно вешается при установке Master?
