Нет. Не пойдет.
Это переносить внутри раздела.
Можно так.
mkfs -t ext2 /dev/hda10
mkdir /mnt/hda10
mount /dev/hda10 /mnt/hda10
cp -R /mnt/hda8/* /mnt/hda10
Надеюсь вам понятно:
Создать файловую систему
и просто скопирывать один диск на другой.
В /etc/fstab поменять hda8 на hda10.
