Сразу повисает?!
Это странно конечно. Так только ядро может все вешать.
Может быть падает сетевой модуль и рухается ядро?
Что за сетевуха?

Логи, 12 консоль и прочее?
Вы маршрутизацию надеюсь разрешили от одной сети в другую?
