Еще лучше поставить mod_dav и сделать доступ через WebDAV, желательно
по SSL. Простые средства типа монтирования как диск тоже есть,
программа WebDrive, что ли, умеет и через SSL ходить.
А в перспективе можно воспользоваться и продвинутыми возможностями.
