У меня получалось (APC Back-UPS CS 500)
С помощью apcupsd-3.10.0, там поддержка USB есть.
С фирменным софтом я как то не подружился.
К сожалению в Sisyphus версия apcupsd 3.8.2, поэтому пришлось брать
исходники с CVS, править spec от старой версии, собирать RPM.... и т.д.
Сначала разбираемся собственно с USB, а затем в apcupsd.conf
DEVICE=/dev/usb/hiddev0
И всё работает.
